Celebrated fashion design is a profession for many reasons. To name a few, it was praised for the extremities, creativity, originality, open-minded nature and a talent for it to find and produce beauty out of a strange or special circumstances. All this is true of fashion design, but unfortunately not always reflect the world of modeling open mind. High fashion models have been known exclusively for white women from a very specific height and weight range. In other words, a large percentage of the work, high fashion model tall, thin and very white. It is unfortunate that even in a unique industry and creativity-based, there are still some aspects that are still very homogeneous. However, like the whole world, fashion and modeling world ground-breaking changes. Recently, several lines of high fashion has signed on non-traditional models to represent their upcoming collections. This shows evidence of appreciation of a new kind of beauty, the kind of beauty that comes from being confident in their own differences from the homogenous world.
One example is the model most recently known as Lea Lea T. T, which used to be Leandro Cerezo, is a Brazilian model that got its start as an assistant he Riccardo Tisci, creative director for Givenchy. Tisci looks amazing attention to Leah, and has been referred to as “innate elegance”, and “aristocratic”. He has cast him in his latest ad campaign that the label Givenchy. In addition he appeared in French Vogue this month. In the magazine, she posed naked, with long hair falling over her breasts, while she covers her genitals with his hands. Although Lea T is preparing to undergo a full sex change hormones and physical, he still currently has male genitalia.
Another example is a Bosnian-born model Andrej Pejic. Pejic makes modeling started in Australia, but has since become widely recognized throughout the entire fashion world for its striking features, white-blond hair and androgyny famous gaze. Pejic looks even more feminine than Lea T, so much so that he is almost unrecognizable as a man in a lot of photos. However, no matter how slim, graceful and slender-legged him, his chest still doubt hard and masculine. The result is a kind of rare beauty, subtle, sexy and still strangely masculine and strong. Pejic was featured in the campaign Jean Paul Gaultier Spring / Summer 2011 ad. He has walked the runway to show designer, John Galliano, Paul Smith and Raf Simons.
It’s nice to see a refreshing change in fashion modeling. In a world where change and originality knows no boundaries, only fitting that the model has the freedom to express their own personality as well. Courage is a model such as Lea T and Adrej Pejic is an inspiration for designers, models, fashion design student and fashion lovers alike!
